Our classes at Studi0ne

We offer two types of Saturday class. The next classes available to book are listed below

For smaller or simpler projects we offer classes from 10am till 12.30pm or from 1.30pm till 4pm

These classes cost £30 booking fee to Becca at Studi0ne - for a place and then £30 materials and firing fee on the day to cover our costs.

Our 10am to 3.30pm class is for more complex projects which cost £50 booking fee to Becca at Studi0ne - for a place and then £30 materials and firing fee on the day to cover our costs.

(if you are a fast worker or favour very simple designs and find yourself with a little extra time, there may be an opportunity to purchase further materials/kiln space to make additional items)

If you would like to arrange your own group session and have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 people we can arrange a session to suit you.

Glass Club

On the last Tuesday of the month from 2pm to 4.30pm

Simply book a seat - its £30 for each person attending. and then £15 per 18cm square kiln shelf you use.

It is an opportunity to try things out, or to come along and work on a longer project. With two instructors and no more than 6 participants you will get a lot of one to one help as you develop your craft

Kiln Carving Workshop 31st January 2026

Full Day course 10 - 3.30pm

This class is all about texture. We will begin by carving a design relief into a fireproof mat which will form the texture and pattern of your piece. This is up to you, ammonites, paisley or flower designs, tropical sunsets and fish, fruit and veg there will be inspiration available.

Then we will place a transparent 15cm square of glass over the top and you will be able to cut and add transparent coloured glass for a bold colour pop or create more subtle effects by scattering crushed glass or using fireable glass paints.

When you are finished we will take your design away to fire overnight, and as the glass melts it will softly fill the spaces in your carved design, and when it cools and solidifies your finished piece will have a smooth top and a textured underneath.

We will leave it up to you how you would like to present and display your pane, many prefer the versatility of a flat panel, but if you let us know in advance we can also fire it for a second time whilst it is still attached to its kiln carve sheet, at a lower temperature over a lamp sconce mould just enough for it to bend softly into a curve without fully melting, so that it becomes a freestanding curve, which will look amazing on a sunny windowsill or with a candle behind.

Mobiles, wind chimes and 3D hangings Saturday 28th February

Full day course 10am to 3.30pm

Let your imagination run wild with our decorative glass hanging class. We begin with a circular suspension plate and this can be decorated with transparent class which will catch the light and create rainbows of colour.During this decorative process you will fix copper hoops which will be used to hang the finished work, and to suspend your decorative dangles!

Then we will set to work on your decorative features, you can choose abstract ribbons of colour or create a shoal of brightly coloured fish, flowers or other imaginative shapes.Your decorative features will each be set with a copper ring which you can use to hang them under your suspension plate.

When you have finished we will take your design away to fire overnight. Your pieces will be returned to you hung together with nylon wire, but you can of course take these apart, rehang them with different lengths or alternative materials as you see fit.

Glass Spring Flowers 28th March 2026

Full day course 10am to 3.30pm

In this class we will teach you how to cut glass into the component parts for a floral display. You will be given two 18cm square kiln shelves, which will be ample space to prepare a selection of foliage and flower petals for your glass display. We will show you how to include wires within your petals and leaves and we will demonstrate how you will be able to twist the parts together once your foliage has been fired. We will also provide you with a terracotta pot, and help you weight it and fill it ready for your display.

Usually your pieces are returned to you ready to assemble, as demonstrated in the class, and you can do this in your own time. You may wish to add other decorative details such as dried flowers, ribbons and bark to develop your own individual work of art.

Colmers Hill in Glass 25th April 2026

Half day class - 10am-12.30pm or 1.30pm to 4.00pm

In this class you will be creating your own Colmers Hill light catcher

We will talk you through some design hints and tips – you will have the opportunity to try out several styles and effects.

You will get a comprehensive lesson in the cutting and layering of glass. Even if you have never cut glass deliberately before, you will soon be confidently cutting and creating your own design. Don’t worry if you are not a confident artist, glass lends itself to simple bold designs which really work well with our local iconic landmark. For the more accomplished artists it is a really fun way of trying out a new medium and exploring light and colour.

We have a range of different tools to help you master your own technique we keep a small range of precut pieces plus crushed glass to help you complete your masterpiece.

We can return your piece as a single flat panel, and you can decide how you wish to display it. If you would like to include copper hanging fittings we can set those into the glass during the firing, we can also curve your panel into a free standing curve which will look amazing on a sunny windowsill or with a candle behind.

Joining Instructions

Thank you for booking our glass class. We understand some of our guests are unsure about handling glass, rest assured we will give you a health and safety briefing on arrival and full instruction, but before coming please observe the following common sense precautions

Food and drink should not be consumed in the area where you are working – both for hygiene and safety reasons – you may have stopped working but your class mates may not and you don’t want tiny bits of glass pinging off into what you eat or drink - hot drinks will be provided for consuming away from the working zone. If you are bringing food for an all day class, it can be eaten in a designated clear area.Think about your clothing – don’t wear open toed footwear due to the risk of stray glass shards when working. Wear clothes you are comfortable moving about in – dangly sleeves and scarves may cause you unnecessary stress! You may wish to bring an apron to protect your clothes from glass dust. It is not essential.The classes are open to those aged 12 and above. Children below the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is also taking the class. Although we have our DBS checks, neither of us have children and are not familiar or comfortable being responsible for minors.

We will provide safety goggles and advice on safely handling the glass. As adults we assume you will use this.We expect you to be responsible for your own safety. If we feel you are endangering others we will ask you to leave the class.
